The Manor of Fort Pierce Visitation Policy

The Manor welcomes families and loved ones while maintaining the safety, comfort, privacy and daily routines of residents.

Resident visitation rights

Residents may receive visitors of their choice with privacy and dignity, at a minimum between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily, unless the resident objects.

Upon request, the facility will make reasonable provisions to extend visiting hours for caregivers, out-of-town guests and similar situations.

Essential caregiver visits

Residents may designate an essential caregiver, and the facility will allow in-person visitation for at least 2 hours daily, in addition to any other visitation permitted by the facility.

Health and safety requirements

Visitors must follow basic health and safety practices to reduce the spread of illness, including:

  • Performing hand hygiene upon entry and throughout the visit
  • Following posted instructions related to infection prevention
  • Avoiding visitation when experiencing symptoms of illness such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea or respiratory symptoms

Respectful visitation expectations

Visitors must:

  • Respect resident privacy and personal space
  • Maintain appropriate language and conduct
  • Avoid disrupting the care of residents or facility operations
  • Follow staff direction when needed to protect resident safety

Restrictions and limitations

Visitation may be limited only when necessary to protect resident safety, privacy or the rights of other residents, including situations involving:

  • A resident request to refuse a visit
  • Unsafe visitor behavior
  • Infection control concerns
  • Disruption to the facility environment

The facility will use the least restrictive approach possible.

Entry and supervision

All visitors must check in upon arrival and may be required to present identification. Visitors may be asked to visit in designated areas when appropriate.
